Allocation of virtual inventory through UI
Unallocated inventory refers to available stock that hasn’t been assigned to a virtual warehouse. From the product list, you can allocate this stock to virtual warehouses. Use the unallocated tab to view warehouses with connected virtual stock locations and see the total inventory awaiting allocation.
After selecting a warehouse, it will automatically be applied as a filter, and the products with available unallocated stock will be listed in the product list.
Select a product and click on the allocate button. This will open a modal displaying the total inventory, the current stock amounts in the physical and virtual warehouses, and the quantity available for allocation.
In the modal, users can select a from warehouse and a to virtual warehouse for inventory allocation.
- From warehouse: Choose the physical warehouse where the stock is currently held.
- To virtual warehouse: Select the virtual warehouse to which the inventory will be allocated.
- Enter the quantity to allocate: In the "Quantity to allocate" field, input the number of units to transfer from the source to the virtual warehouse.
- New inventory count: As you enter the allocation amount, the system automatically updates the inventory for the destination virtual warehouse and adjusts the remaining inventory available for allocation.
- Allocate the inventory: Click the "Allocate" button to complete the transfer of inventory from the physical warehouse to the virtual warehouse.
Confirming the allocation will reduce the selected quantity in the from warehouse and increase it in the to virtual warehouse.
