Anonymizing a customer (GDPR Compliance)

  • Updated

To protect customer privacy and meet GDPR requirements, you have the option to anonymize a customer's data. This ensures that all personally identifiable information is removed, while keeping essential business records like orders and projects intact. Use this feature when a customer requests to have their data erased, or when it's no longer necessary to store their personal information.

How to anonymize a customer:

  1. Navigate to the Customer Card of the person you wish to anonymize.

  2. Under Contact Information, click the three dots menu (⋯) and select Anonymize Customer.

  3. You’ll be asked to type in the customer number to confirm.

  4. Click Yes, I'm sure to proceed.

Once confirmed, the customer card will be deleted, and all related orders will be anonymized. Any orders containing the customer’s name will have the name replaced with ***

Note

It is not possible to delete a customer if they have any open orders — orders with the status "New" or "In Progress". You will receive a warning: "The customer has open orders."

To proceed, either change the status of the open orders to "Cancelled" or complete the order.
Once there are no open orders, you can delete the customer.
