Adding contact persons for business customers

For business customers, you can add contact persons to make sure the right people are getting the information they need. These contact persons can be:

  • Already registered as a private customer: If the person is already in the system, you can link them to the business customer.
  • Newly created: If they aren’t in the system yet, you can add them without linking them to a private customer.


     

Why Use Contact Persons?

Adding contact persons helps you:

  • Make sure the right person gets updates on orders or carts.
  • Keep track of different people who might be handling things for the business customer, like a manager or sales rep.
  • Direct communication more easily, especially for large businesses.
     

How to add a contact person to a business customer

  1. Navigate to Customer → Business Customer.



     
  2. Select the business customer you want to add a contact person for.

     
  3. Click on the Contacts tab.



     
  4. Click Add New Contact.



     
    • If the Contact is already a customer: Search for their name, and their details will fill in automatically.

       
    • If the contact is new: Manually enter the required information.

       
  5. Add a role: You can type in the contact person’s role (like Manager or Sales Rep). If you want to use common roles, you can set them up in Configuration → Customers → Contact Role Type.

     
  6. See if they’re linked to a private customer: If the contact is linked to a private customer, an icon will show next to their name.

     

How to add a contact person to a cart or order

  1. Create a cart: Set up the cart as usual and add the business customer.

  2. Choose the contact person: From the dropdown menu, select the contact person for the business.

  3. Complete the cart  and place the order.
  4. Contact person linked to order: The contact person you chose will be added to the order.


     
    Note: Once the order is placed, you can’t change the contact person.
