Products can be imported to Omnum from an Excel spreadsheet. Here is an example of one way of doing this.
In this example we want to edit some properties on existing products, but also add some new ones. We start by changing the product list view to Product enrichment and selecting the default properties
From here we can create an Excel import file that will contain the selected products with default properties as header.
In the created Excel sheet we want to add description to the variants and also create a new product “Omnium Bike 3000” in two sizes S and M. The header VariantParentId is a required property and should be set to the parent products property “Id”. In this example “Omnium-Bike-3000_no”. Another important thing to remember is that in the far right column, the values cannot be empty. This will give an error when trying to import. This can be solved by for instance having the ProductId column as the far right column, as this field always has a value.
To import the file, go to Configuration in the left menu and then the Import tab. Here you can select your Excel file. Choose the entity “Products and variants (from export file)”. The Create-toggle has to be checked if there are new products in the import.
We click import and now we have updated the descriptions on product Trek-32454 and added a new product Omnium Bike 3000 with two variants.
